about my work
I have designed and made jewellery since graduating in 1993. I worked in the jewellery industry gaining valuable experience for a number of years before setting myself up in business.Base metals have wonderful potential for creating colour and subtle tones. I am fascinated by the variation of colour and structure in rock formations and by plant structures and the random colour and texture painting the ground in areas of thermal activity. My base metal work is about creating contrast and interest using colour and texture. Each piece is handmade from start to finish and employs techniques such as combining metals, etching and patination using chemicals and heat.
